What the score is, how a session gets verified, and what happens when you put your name on the list.
What does PES stand for?
PES stands for Performance Equity Score™: a 0 to 999 score built from physical effort that can be proven. Your history sets where you start. Verified sessions move it.
Is the Performance Equity Score™ like a credit score?
Same idea, different habit. A FICO® Score reflects how you handle money. The Performance Equity Score™ reflects physical effort that can be verified. It is free to the individual and carries no cash value. Your financial habits shape your credit score. Your physical effort deserves a score of its own.
Can workout data from a wearable be faked?
A single signal can. GPS can be spoofed and a step counter can be shaken. GAVL is built to check several independent signals against each other: where you were, when, and what your body recorded. A session counts only when the evidence supports it.
Does Performance Equity work with Apple Watch, Garmin, WHOOP, Oura and Polar?
Apple Watch, Garmin, WHOOP, Oura and Polar are in the product vision. Your invitation confirms which devices the current release supports. You can join the list with the phone you already have. Find your wearable.
What is the Performance Equity Score™?
One number, 0 to 999, built from your verified record. It measures verified effort over time: the gym, the run, the ride, on approved watches and wearables. The starting estimate and the record built from verified sessions are different. Invitations will explain the scoring rules for the supported release.
Verified effort is the asset. Your record is what you own; the score makes that record legible. The number itself is not money, a token, or a balance you can cash out.
What is Performance Equity?
Equity is value you own. Performance Equity is that value, built from effort that can be proven. Performance Equity Inc. builds the verification layer and the score.
What does it cost?
Nothing. The score is free and it stays free. Our business model is built around institutional verification services. If the score earns your belief, you can pay it forward to the Performance Equity Foundation.
What do I need to start?
To join the list: an email address. You do not need to buy a wearable first. The product is designed around different setups, from a phone to a connected wearable stack. Your beta invitation will confirm which setup and activities the release supports. Find your wearable.
Which wearable should I use?
Start with what you already own. A brand name alone does not establish compatibility: the model, the data it records, and the available connection matter. The beta device list will be confirmed with invitations. Our wearable guide explains the options without asking you to buy ahead of support.
Can I use more than one wearable?
That is part of the design: a phone, a watch, and a heart-rate sensor can contribute different signals from the same session. More devices do not automatically mean more points. The work counts once, and the available evidence has to agree. Confirmed beta combinations will be listed with invitations.
What about AirPods with heart-rate sensing?
AirPods Pro 3 can measure heart rate during workouts with a compatible iPhone and supported apps. That does not mean every AirPods model measures heart rate, or that Performance Equity support is already live. See the heart-rate setup.
How does a session get verified?
GAVL is designed around five layers: presence, device signals, biological plausibility, session quality, and consistency. The website explains the verification design; it does not certify every layer as available in the current release. The checks available for a session depend on the release, its devices, and the setting.
The name for that layer is GAVL. See how it works.
Do I have to log anything?
The aim is to let you train while your connected devices supply the evidence. Setup and recording steps depend on the supported device and activity. A manually entered workout does not become verified effort just because it was entered.
Where do I start?
Start with a few questions about your recorded workout history and training. You will see a clearly labeled starting-point estimate before joining the list. Eligible history must be confirmed through a supported connection. Your answers do not create verified sessions or an issued score.
Does my recorded workout history count?
Eligible history imported from a supported device platform can establish your starting floor. It does not turn old workouts into live-verified sessions or advance calibration. The past gives you a starting point. Verification builds the record from there.
Can the number be bought, borrowed, or faked?
You cannot buy verified effort. Imported history and self-reported information are not the same as a verified session. Verification is designed to test the evidence behind the work and reject sessions that do not meet its checks.
What does an institution see?
The goal is for you to choose when to share your proof. Any pilot must define what information an organization receives and the permissions involved before participation. Read the Privacy Policy.
What is proof of effort™?
A verified session. Work that happened, confirmed by independent checks, on the record. Proof of effort™ is what a session becomes after verification, and it is what moves the number.
What happens after I join the list?
Your interest is recorded after a successful save. We will email you when an invitation is ready. Joining the list does not enroll you in the product, connect a device, or issue a score. There is no promised invitation order or cohort start date.
Can parents register interest for a young person?
Yes. Parents and guardians can use their own name and email to express interest for someone aged 13–17. This route does not ask for the young person's name, email, workout history, or health details, and it does not create a score estimate. Invitations will explain participation and consent steps before enrollment. Adults 18 or older can register their own interest.
What would I do in the first cohort?
Invitations will explain the supported setup, activities, participation and feedback expectations, and available support before you accept. These details are still being finalized. You can decide then whether taking part fits your routine.
What happens to my answers?
The history answer determines your starting estimate. Training frequency, setting, and the optional opportunity answer provide context without changing that estimate. After you join, you can optionally add your device, Metro or ZIP, and gym. Read the Privacy Policy for data handling and how to request help or removal.
Can I use the PE Card today?
The physical cards show the direction we are building toward. An earlier MVP1 Wallet pass demonstrates its appearance. Card issuance, current V1 access, payment functions, participating places, and funded benefits are not offered through this signup. Explore the PE Card vision.
How do I reach you?
